Joost aka the Venice Project is the latest brain child of the creators of Skype and Kazaa. BingeBoy is lucky enough to be a Joost beta tester. So far we are extremely impressed with what we have seen, with great content and user experiance Joost is a web based p2p video service very similar to cable television. Unlike television its all streaming p2p with a community around it. This includes recommendations, user rated contnet and chat rooms for channels that you are watching. Another great note about Joost is the abilty to pause fastforward and rewind content. Amazingly there is also a search tool similar to what youtube has.

Do you have a Earthlink broadband connection? Well I just had one installed at my house. Everything seemed great until I noticed that Earthlink was serving a custom 404 error page on my searches.

Here is a expample. In the address bar I type “google” and leave off the “.com” in Firefox browser. On a normal ISP the “.com” would be automatically added. However with Earthlink as your ISP you get rerouteed to a custom error page on earthlink.net and servered banner ads and a yahoo search bar. Hmmmm why is this? WTF? Again a tried another standard search use my address bar with FF2.0 and instead of getting the default google search I again get rerouted to a custom error page on earth link.

Besides being extremely annoying for all future searches ever made from this ISP Earthlink is making millions and millions of dollars threw these banner adds. If you’re an Earthlink customer call customer service and tell them that you will not put up with this any longer. I have and have since switched to RoadRunner.
