The 3 types for color receptors in our eyes are red, green, and blue. The is bascailly the same channels as a TV. Our eyes can also detect black and white.The term color blindness is coined when a indvidual is lacking one or more of the repectors/channels. Most color perception defects are for red or green or both. About 10% of males have a color perception defect, but this is rare in females. Red-green color blindness is a result of a lack of red receptors. It is also possible to have the color receptors missing entirely though exptremely rare.This form of color blindness results in black and white vision.
