Apple Inc. has announced the iPhone, which will be released in June. The device is completely touch screen and runs osx. The main features of the phone are the ability to play audio and video files, internet / web app functionality, and phone / sms.

The audio and video option displays the cover and movies in a new improved 160 dpi resolution screen. Coverflow which was added to iTunes 7 is now supported on the device allowing the user to finger scroll to the desired album. Video can be played vertically or horizontally and by a touch of the screen will switch between 4:3 and 16:9 formats.

For internet browsing Apple has designed a mobile version of Safari which can display a entire site and also allow the user to zoom into areas of interest to allow easy reading.
